feelin’ ill

couldn’t sleep last night…that’s what i get for drinking a large latte - so late at night.

i had a dream about Victoria. her mom got in touch with me - apparently her family has not heard from her for the last few months. she asked me to find her daughter. i agreed. for some reason - i didn’t have a car - so i walked from California to Nevada.

On my way - I saw the opening for an old road trip movie - black and white. Tony Curtis was staring in it - he was very young. He road shotgun in an old ricket RV, a blonde was at the wheel. They were looking for somebody in the mountains. At one point - Curtis stuck his head out through the roof. The roof was covered in funny hats and costumes - he stuck his head onto some bunny ears, but he didn’t realize it. I think the name of the movie was Wild Sweet Magnolia. Something like that.

I kept walking. I carried my laptop, in my laptop bag. It was the end of the summer - just warm enough for walking. I went through Lake Tahoe and I ended up in some Nevada desert. I strolled into an old town. I found the cabin we use to have from Running Springs. The inside was stripped down to it’s insulation. I crawled inside. It was warm. I found an etch-sketch toy. Victoria used it for her diary…..it began…..”I knew you would come looking for me…..”

I set my laptop down and started to read it. I wondered how I would let her mom know about what I found. The town didn’t have a phone. I figured I could walk back from where I came - until I hit a town that had a phone or until I made back to California, so that I could tell her mom in person. Which ever came first. I noticed it was getting dark out. I decided to spend the night in the cabin.
