The Sunday before Thanksgiving, Mark and I figured we could do this Turkey dinner business after a dress rehersal. So we roasted a chicken. Yummy. We did pretty good, considering it was our first roasted chicken. Hell, it looks nice in the picture and it tasted good. We cooked most of it.
Next time, we’ll get a string to tie up the legs. I didn’t expect digging out the gibblets to feel so disgusting. I stuck my hand in and pulled out these slimy, squishy jello-like body bits. Now I know I didn’t have the nerves to be a doctor. Ewww.
Later that week, my co-worked invited us over for Thanksgiving dinner. Yeah! We didn’t have to worry about roasting the turkey. We dumped it in the freezer and have plans to thaw it out, later. So, I made a pasta side disk with smoked clams and prosciutto. Mark baked two pecan pies with Maker’s Mark. The bourbon tasted awesome with the whip cream.
HI!
THe recipe for the Pecan Pies sounds great!
I am looking for ANY Maker’s Mark Ambassadors, are you one?
If not, please drop me a line anyway :-} !
