This week, I started my 4 AM to Noon shifts…kinda like a mock rehersal. We’re building the show with local stories for our reporters and other video sources. I think I got my sleep schedule down. Mark has been amazing with helping my adjust to the time change. My eating schedule is fucked.

But this should help when I move to the overnights shifts. It’s fun when we’re racing against a deadling to finish scripts and editing video.

We adopted Daisy from the Helping Hand Society last weekend. She’s five months old. We’ve been talking about getting a puppy for more than a year now. She’s our baby and we’re in love. She love’s the camera. I suspect she get’s her diva attitude from the time she was featured on our rival station during their morning program. Fancy that!

According to Helping Hands, Daisy spent her first five months in crate. It broke our hearts when we heard that. Apparently the family had little kids and they didn’t get along. So, apartment training Daisy has been an interesting challenge. It takes a lot of patience and reptition. It takes consistency and then more consistency. It takes love and team work. Mark is with her nearly all hours of the day. Tonight, I told him to get out of the apartment and take a break.

With our training classes and our faith in her, someday Daisy will be able to be around our own children…but for now, she’s our baby.
