One anchor asked me if considered LA home. I said yes, but I also considered the state of California home. I spent so much time in the Bay Area and Southern California - I feel a pull to both sides of the state. Home is also where my heart is. Since Mark is in Topeka, Kansas is home for me now. I have a family here with my hubby and my baby.
Before Bedtime Reading…
Wired had this article about people unable to deal with a music-less enviroment. As a grad student, I listened to the Postal Service as I battled snow drifts to get to my class by the lake. However, I also felt comfortable enough to walk around without a playlist synched to my footsteps. I enjoyed listening to the waves crash by the Chicago River, “Mind the Gap” called out over the Tube’s speakers and dancing a tango by street musicians in the Paris Metro. I enjoyed exploring Europe, DC and Chicago with my ears free from buds.
Speaking of travels…I started an account on platial.com. I thought it was a neat way to track memories, events and everything in between with google maps. Somebody added my birthplace to a community map: “was born here.”
And how much would you pay for a sandwich? I like foie gras and I bet the black truffle mayonnaise tastes great - but $140 US dollars seems like a splurge for a sandwich. Maybe I could have split it with Mark when we lived in London. I’m amazed at the practice of rubbing sake into Wagyu beef tenderize the flesh.
