Watching the tide roll away…

We didn’t have a car in San Francisco and we took advantage of BART and Muni. SF has a decent public transportation system. It’s not as rockin’ as London’s Tube (not as timely, reliable and not as far-reaching) however, it’s also nice to give our wallets a break from the crazy gas prices. Here in the Heartland…most people have to drive. There’s a bus stop by my station - but it doesn’t look like it has a schedule that could meet my graveyard shifts. So I drive.

On the other side of City Hall - the Asian Art Museum. It’s in a new location. I remember visiting the museum in Golden Gate Park - next to the Japanese Tea Gardens and the De Young. It was a pain to hike out to that location after taking public transportation as far as we could go…but I had good times there. This new location makes the Asian Art Museum more accessible (close to the Civic Center BART) and it allows the collections to breathe new life.

The world is screwing with me…

I wanted a cocktail and a decent omelette. That’s all. After my morning…was that too much to ask?

Apparently.

I ended up cracking an egg and it spilled on the floor and my pj’s.

Fuck this shit. It feels like the universe was crapping on me.

I recorded Amazing Race and Top Chef last night. I fast forwarded to Top Chef. I needed to see home. The chefs had to cater a wedding for two adorable guys and I loved watching something that reminded me of my own happy day. And what I love about the reality show - in comparison to the Apprentince, the Amazing Race, even my beloved Project Runway…Top Chef is all about the food. You can’t BS someone’s taste buds. I think that’s great! And it makes this show a fantastic test of culinary genius.

After finishing my lemon-pepper cheese omelette with smoked sausage and a couple of ginger-ale whiskey cocktails - I’m in a better mood.
