It was a beautiful night…
Here’s Susan and Joe…He said he got his hat from the last wedding he was in…and apparently there was an expectation for him to wear a kilt on Tom’s birthday.
Cake time…
Blow Tom Blow!
Some folks got confused with the banana piece…they weren’t sure whether to eat the peel or not. They found out quickly that the peel didn’t taste very good. We also got a second round of cheesecake pieces at our table. Very sweet, very decadent and now I need to lose some weight.
This makes me think of that song from Sabrina (the remake)…performed by Sting. There was a longing in Sabrina, for Paris and for unrequited love. That’s how I feel about San Francisco and California…a longing.

Susan and Tom reserved the top floor for the party. It was nice to hang loose…without worrying over whether we disturbed outside parties. The servers were quite sweet and totally savvy about the food. One guy recomend Mark order his kobe steak medium over well done. Friends from all over came to celebrate Tom’s milestone event - from work, school and beyond.
I ordered the duck. I enjoyed the fruity accents and the mashed sweet potatoes.
I think at our table, the birthday boy and Mark were the only men…lucky them, I suppose.
The halibut and mussles was also quite tasty. Damn, I miss fresh fish in Kansas!

Happy 30th Tom! On Saturday night, Susan and Tom threw this fab party at Julius Castle.
It’s been around since the 1920’s and it has yummy food and beautiful views. It sits next to Coit Tower.
We did cocktails, champagne and hors d’oeuvres out on the balcony. I think Susan’s sister Linda, flew in a few hours earlier.
Shrimp thingies. I must be a klutz or something, but I had a odd time balancing appetizers, napkins and my champagne flute. Thankfully, Mark provided an extra pair of hands. We traded off on holding and eating.
