Exploring the other side of the rainbow

The freckles in our eyes…

Two years ago, Mark got down on one hand and knee here…on the beach at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco. He proposed, I said yes…and that was the start of our next great adventure.

One year ago, we tied the knot. It was the most amazing day of my life. I’m grateful we were surrounded by family and friends. I can’t wait for Jennie to have this experience in Nov! I think her wedding dress was a little more comfortable than the one I wore. I hope so.

Vacation

We got back from Buffalo yesterday. We did a family reunion thing on the weekend, ate too much good food, visited with family and friends and saw one of the last wonders on Earth. Good times.

Pissed off puppy

Daisy’s barking at the noise going on - outside of the apartment. She’s just doing her job. She thinks she’s a guard dog…but she needs to stop being so paranoid.

I’m packing for our NY trip. We leave Kansas tomorrow and head to Buffalo for a family reunion. I can’t wait to see all of Mark’s family again. Yummy food, drinks and good times.

I miss being around family.

Snapping up nice moments

My baby turned one-years-old on August 8. Daisy grew up so fast! For her birthday, we got her a puppy cone from Sheridan’s - topped with some yummy vanilla custard. When we took her to day care, we dropped off some gourmet doggie cookies for her playmates. The day care folks had a birthday party for her and her playmates. We also took her jogging for the first time on Shunga Trail. She was able to run for about 1.20 miles - without getting tired. All that crazy Daisy energy! She tripped me on one of her zig zags in front of me.
I try to tell Daisy she’s now a doggie but her tail keeps wagging like a puppy. Maybe in my eyes, she’ll never grow up.

It’s been a hell of a day…

Terror plot in London, servers refusing to upload video at work…and other crap to deal with….

This video by my favorite indie group, Death Cab for Cutie, made me feel better.

Watching the sunrise over Perry Lake

We went camping at Perry Lake State Park this weekend. It was lovely -
not too many people and not too hot at night. I couldn’t sleep in…not with this beautiful sunrise peeping into the tent. So, I got
up and took a walk by the lake. Funny, my work hours have me up by sunrise, but this is one of the few times I get a chance to watch one…and it was beautiful.

Almost bedtime…

Mark needs to work this weekend…but we’re squeezing in a camping trip to Perry Lake State Park. I can’t wait to use the cool camping equipment we got from our co-workers as a wedding present. Mark also picked up a sweet pair of binoculars to do some stargazing. Hopefully we won’t run in to city light pollution by our camp site.
