A few minutes ago….
“Mark? If I showed you a picture of one of your cousins, would you be able to identify him?”
He walks over and stares at this picture. He flips my Powerbook upside down and peers at his face.
“Adam,” and my hubby went on to jog my memory. This cousin competed in motorcross racing.
I married into a cool family. Adam was flipping around at the Dunne Family Reunion at Syracuse.
Good times
On our first night in upstate New York, Mark’s mom and Kaine’s family picked us up from Buffalo International. Everyone was hungry, so we did dinner at a family favorite spot in Niagara Falls, Buzzy’s. Bucket of beers, pizza, fried cheese sticks…and of course, Buffalo wings. I’m a wuss when it comes to spicy stuff…just ask my Dad. However, I was able to scarf down these “medium hot” wings. Mark said he remembered them being really hot when he was a kid. Things change…or maybe it’s his palate.
Buzzy’s wings come in different flavors. These are the garlic honey wings. Very tasty and oh-so-bad for my diet! Sweet and juicy chicken meat and skin, with a nice sharp bite from the garlic. All wings come with creamy blue cheese for your dipping pleasure.
We took a road trip down to Syracuse the next day to meet up with everybody for the reunion. A three hour drive. It was a pleasure to meet up with Kaine and everyone else from our wedding party. It was also lovely to see folks I haven’t hung out with since our last visit to the Empire State. We spent most of our time under the tent, since it was raining. We had chicken, burgers and hot dogs on the bbq grill. Terri’s yummy cole slaw, potato salad, macaroni salad and other tasty side dishes…and beer. My brew of choice in New York, Molsons.
Terri and Elieen, our British partners-in-crime! We have to go back to the UK and Ireland some day! I’ll keep saving my quids.

Once again, I’m taking too many pictures…possibly annoying people. I really should tone down the shutter-bug inside. Someday. I would also like to get a new camera. That would be cool.
Mark’s cousin Kim brought along a family album. I loved the baby pictures of Terri, her sisters and other family members! Many photo were old and turning sepia at the edges…and they’re still a charming window into the past, a jumping point for stories. Of course, we browsed through Mark’s baby pictures…he was such a cute baby! Kay also had some risque pictures of Mark. It’s a good thing we’re already married.
Here’s one of Mark…trying to look like the Fonze. You could already tell he was a smart cookie, with a little sass. He passed on his smarts and attitude to our baby Daisy. On Labor Day, we took our baby to Bark Park. She kept crawling under the tables for shade…trying to avoid getting a sunburn. Just like Mark!
The next generation. Kay’s album had group pictures of the young ones in the family, dating back to “way back when”. These kids managed to enjoy themselves in spite of the damp weather - football, running around, jumping in the lake…and of course, doing backflips off the table.
