I love covering happy stories. I know we still had crime, carnage and politics to pay attention to - but these shuttle stories are always thrilling to me. Wave of the future and all that jazz!
At 5:22 — when I watched Atlantis touchdown on Earth, I could feel this collective whoosh of relief with the rest of humankind. Someday…I hope space travel becomes as common as driving down the highway. I know we could do it as long as countires could get settle down and pay attention to the future.
