I tried to power thru my cold with a hike at Cabrillo National Monument.
We got lucky with the weather yesterday. Storms clouded rolled in after our Point Loma visit.

File this under doing Comic-Con without a badge.
I loved the absurd, sentimental, geeky variety show at w00tstock 7.0.
Of course I wanted tickets to see my Star Trek crush Wil Wheaton.
He treated us to a tale about poop.
Alton Brown entertained us with a lullaby for his daughter.
Also about poop.
(Mental note: avoid shrimp cocktail at airports. Shudder)
A joke from Paul and Storm’s first act stuck around like a broken record during intermission.
Taylor Swift’s ‘Shake It Off‘ was on repeat.
The finale was the perfect exclamation point (middle finger) for the evening.
We enjoyed Comic Con without badges.
Avoided traffic and parking fees by taking the trolley.
Paid for cool venues that included cocktails, beers and geek heroes.
Enjoyed cosplayers and their amazing works of art without spending a dime.
Glass. Check.
Lanyard. Check.
Hopcon 3.0. Bring it.
It was my first trip to Hopcon: the W00tStout Festival at Stone Brewing in San Diego’s Liberty Station.
So much beer.
It was an epic and tasty night.
2015 w00tstout brewed with ghost peppers and boysenberries. NOM!
Ready to run!
We kicked off the Fourth of July with the Crown City Classic 5K in Coronado.
It felt incredible to run under a huge American flag at the starting line.
The race route took us under the Coronado Bridge.
Coronado Brewing helped celebrate runners crossing the finish line with free beer. Beer before 9 AM, not bad. I love races that end with a tasty treat.
Just own the night.
Like the Fourth of July.
My first Big Bay Boom on Independence Day. We had the best seats in San Diego on our Flagship cruise.
Come on, let your colors burst!

“This ain’t Sea World.”
I kept thinking about Andy Samberg and the SNL Skit, “I’m on a Boat,” when we rolled out our yoga mats on the flight deck of the U.S.S. Midway.
At least 650 people showed up for Yoga on the Midway.

Napa seems like a distant memory.
I turned 37 in Baja California.
My hubby and I celebrated with a wine tasting tour of Valle de Guadalupe.
I loved the wine here.
I think we could have spent all day at Vinisterra. The tasting room operator kept opening bottles. Another family enjoyed a cheese plate. We toured the vineyard and chilled out on the patio, lounging in arm chairs made from wine barrels.
My souvenir: Vinisterra Macouzet – 2008 Tempranillo.
This is my entry for Photo Friday: Distant.
Play Ball! Cheering on the San Francisco Giants as we checked out the buildings and characters that make up the San Diego skyline at PetCo Park.
We were stuck in a parking lot as opening festivities kicked off for Military Opening Day.
We watched members of the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs glide past offices and apartment buildings. Then they landed at the ball park.
Buy me some peanuts and Cracker Jacks…
My entry for this week’s Photo Friday: Buildings.
One colour to bring them all and in the darkness bind them…
Not exactly. Still, this is a fun photo challenge.
Walking behind the baseball field at Serra Mesa Park.
Arroz Negro Con Sepia at Costa Brava.
Paella with calamari, cooked in squid ink. It reminded me of Barcelona.
My entry for this week’s Travel Theme: One Colour.
