I’m Just a Small Town Girl…

For some reason, this Journey song has been haunting me since the Soprano’s finale and Sen. Clinton’s bright idea to use it on her campaign web site. It’s so bad, it’s good…and damn catchy.

Last weekend, this song ended up on the jukebox at Buffalo Wild Wings. And some people couldn’t help themselves. They joined in and the song kept us waiting on the chorus: “Don’t Stop Believing!”

Yes, this tune will be stuck in my head and your’s - for the rest of the day.
Your Welcome!

Working at Wakarusa…

CLINTON LAKE — I’m sitting inside the media tent…waiting for the content management sites to load-up. Funny how my blog is faster than the work sites. The Wakarusa Music Festival has been fun so far. We caught Lotus at the Sun Stage and I had some yummy Indian veggie curry for lunch.

But the technology is slowing me down. Mark’s out in the sun…chilling with New Belgium beer. And I’m stuck in the alcohol-free media tent - playing musical chairs with the wi-fi access point. Grrr…

Comedy Trifecta

It’s 7 degrees in Topeka. I’m freezing my butt back.
The other day, I felt like I was skating again. After I woke-up, I had to take our baby outside to do her business. I talked to Daisy the other day about the whole dog-owner-leash-dog relationship. I don’t think she understood. Yesterday morning, in her eagerness to pull me to her potty spot, I started slipping and sliding. I ended up losing my balance on the ice and falling 4 times on my back. One of those times, I also hit a rock. I was a little pissed off at the dog.

My dad waited all day to get his book signed. I think one of the highlights of his LIFE was the chance to shake Bill Clinton’s hand.

The book people wouldn’t let him take pictures at the signing.

losing in style…and other random sayings

Gray Davis Does ‘Top Ten’ On Letterman

now…on to more random sayings…

Kinda reminds of Bob Dole showing up on Saturday Night Live, after losing the presidential election to Bill Clinton. It’s nice when politicans can make fun of their losses.

“When you realize you don’t know what you’re doing, give me a call.”

yesterday - at Bancroft Cafe -

“I love hearing about my parents, before they were parents.” add in annoying girlish giggle….

This Cal student proceeded to speak affectionaly about her Mom’s choices in short shorts and her Dad’s hang up on wierd old music. It was like sitting in a high school cafeteria, rather than at a cafe across the street from one of the best public universities in the world.

and on Monday, after listening to another NPR report on another suicide boming in Iraq….

“At least that means there’s one less suicide bomber out there….” - Mark.

Hey - he told me to put this in here.

Finally - last week - inside the lab….in a very condescending and indignant voice:
“I thought you meant to change my cover letter only, not my entire application. Listen, I know I haven’t turned this in properly, but you need to make this right for me.”

This was an MBA student on his cell phone, griping about how the recruiter should let him interview, regardless of how he fucked up the job application.

Does this sound logical to you?
