I Heart FlipVideo

Happy Memorial Day!

Well…I spent my holiday weekend hacking, wheezing, sniffling and infecting my hubby. I’m so sorry Mark! Since I celebrated my birth date with Tylenol Cold pills and a few tears, we also tried to salvage my birthday celebration on Saturday with a ball game at Kaufman Stadium. Uh. The KC Royals lost again. Almost Deja Vu from our last Royals game.

So, I shot this video with my new FlipVideo camera. Sweet!
My Hubby is so fierce!
Werd.
Now, I hope he feels better soon.

Just before sunrise

SAN DIEGO, CA — I’m blogging from the Sheraton by the Bay….next to the airport. I’m wrapping up a weekend with my family and I don’t want to go back to work. Sigh. Beautiful weather, in the 70’s, sunny. Yummy food. On Friday night, we had crispy lichon, chicken adobe and my Dad’s version of laarb. On Saturday, I went flying with Jen and Ate Gigi. That was an amazing, surreal experience.

And I wish I could stay longer. But I also suspect that even if I stayed a week in California…it wouldn’t be enough.

Fireworks at Kaufman Stadium

It’s been a tiring week. Lot’s of changes at work. My baby looks tired. She’s lying down next to the desk….watching Mark. I suspect she loves him better than me. When I woke up one evening, I headed to our couch for our nightly cuddle. She gave me a few minutes of petting and rubbing. Then she hopped on the couch with Mark to knaw on her bone. I suppose I’m the beta bitch in this family.

We went to a Royals game last night. It was fun…but kinda sad to watch them lose their 6-run lead over the Mariners. We had dollar hot dogs and I even saw one dude decked out in Oakland A’s gear. Go figure. The stadium didn’t have garlic fries, wifi or concrete slabs falling on the audience. But it’s always a pleasure to join the mob in rooting for the underdog team in their home city.

Flavors from our First Anniversary

I’ve known Mark for more than six years and our relationship still feels young. We enjoy exploring new places and new flavors. We open up our minds to new sounds and new ideas. It’s been like that since our first date on a thrift store scavenger hunt in San Francisco.

Moving to Kansas was like moving to another planet. Thank God I had Mark with me for this adventure.
