Tequila Cocktail with a Side of Puppy #fb

Wet day in Sacramento. It was a pleasure to swap out my skirt, tights and the rest of my newsroom uniform for sweats. Now, on the couch with my Daisy and sipping ginger ale with Don Julio Anejo. Good times.

So Crisp. So Clear. So HD

I’m quite happy with my Kodak Zi8.

She’s small, light and oh so expandable with some sexy SD cards. Plus – she shoots in HD. I shot this video of my puppy with the Zi8. Daisy doesn’t need any help looking good, but with this camera, she’s gorgeous.

Photo Friday: Bed Time

My entry for today’s Photo Friday Theme: “Bed Time.”
Check out my puppy – up way past her bed time on the first day of 2010.

My Daisy was trying to be a good host….waiting for us to finish playing Chinese Checkers with our friends. We were up past 2 AM – moving the pastel-colored marbles to [...]

Fog in Vacaville

Soupy skies over Cow Town. Kinda like the outlook on my future career.
“Reply hazy, try again,” from the Magic 8-Ball”

Also fuzzy – my eyes. Today, on the Alamo Creek bike/run trail, it was pretty obvious I had weak eyes when I took off my glasses. My spectacles got a little foggy after running more than [...]

Couch on the Freeway

COVINA, CALIF — Watching the morning news. KTLA’s chopper had a cool shot of the Rose Bowl Stadium. It’s all decked out with the colors of the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Oregon Ducks. According to the pilot, choppers are not allowed to fly over the Rose Bowl on Game Day. That’s a damn shame.

Until we run out of cake…

Today – I slept in until 6:30 AM.
24 hours earlier – I was printing scripts for my director, swapping out stories for a live report at a deadly accident scene and writing teases for my 2-hour show.

Yesterday – I wrapped up my last day of work in Sacramento TV News. It’s the end of my [...]

Autumn Colors 2009

After a long day in the newsroom, I enjoy driving past the red and gold trees on I-80. The bright autumn colors are a thrill to me, especially after spending my work day inside a windowless office.

Our neighborhood in Vacaville has a nice collection of trees changing colors. I once thought I had to live [...]

Fall Flavors 2009

Finally. December.
I’m trying to keep track of all the amazing food we sampled over the past few months. So far, I have tweeted several gourmet experiences. Now – I’ll try to sum up some of those dining adventures, beyond 140 characters.

We did a Thanksgiving Lunch at the Bistro in downtown Sonoma. I needed a [...]

Back In The Kitchen

I had to work on Thanksgiving. I knew I had no energy or patience to cook after producing a 3-hour show. So, we decided to save our Thanksgiving cooking/feast for Saturday.
I always feel guilty about spending the holiday away from our family in So. Cal and in Buffalo. If you sign on to work in [...]

Cal Good, Cal Bad

Finally coming up for some air. I finished up another busy week in the newsroom.
Cal Good:
The Bears knocked down Stanfurd last weekend. Go Bears! We watched the game on a couple of flat screen TVs at the Kezar Bar in SF. We had a nice mix of Berkeley and Tree fans – cheering on our [...]
