Today – I loved this NPR segment on the science of pianos. I heard it on Science Friday as I drove down to Portola Valley for my lunch date with my hubby.

The slow cooker made my house smell like a taqueria in San Francisco’s Mission District. Chili and cumin aromas made it up to our bedroom.
An easy recipe for crockpot chicken with salsa surprised me.
I also made Cuban black beans with tomatoes and corn. We wrapped everything up in wheat tortillas.
It tasted yummy.
It felt healthy.

Filipino food reminds me of family. I loved it when Cate suggested Boracay Garden for lunch.
We ordered too much food. Also – I was impressed by these lunchtime portions.
Since Cate had the day off, we did cocktails and dessert at BJs.

Cooking makes my kitchen smell amazing! I also like how it makes the kitchen the warmest spot in the house.
Mark said the Barefoot Contessa’s bolognese recipe was easy to follow. I also liked the flavor combo of red wine, meat and tomatoes.

I felt like a baller today at O2 Bodyfit Bootcamp.
I used a 15-pound medicine ball for my wall ball circuit. I dropped it once. On my face.
That knocked off my glasses.
But I kept going.
I made a hearty lentil and tomato soup for lunch. I used a recipe by David Rocco.
His Dolce Vita episode on simple Italian soups intrigued me. I liked how he crafted flavorful broths without chicken or beef stock.
For this soup, I added chicken apple sausage and red wine. It tasted so rich and hearty.
