i overheard one of my customers discussing his recent job offer:
“They made an offer of $70,000. I don’t think they understand what I’m worth…I had to explain to them what I should be getting. But it’s understandable, since this company’s from the midwest.” (paraphrasing here).
Good grief! I don’t know about you, but I think that’s an amazing offer! Sheesh – you can’t satsify some people!
I can’t get no satisfaction,
I can’t get no satisfaction.
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try.
I can’t get no, I can’t get no.
When I’m drivin’ in my car
and that man comes on the radio
and he’s tellin’ me more and more
about some useless information
supposed to fire my imagination.
I can’t get no, oh no no no.
Hey hey hey, that’s what I say.
I can’t get no satisfaction,
I can’t get no satisfaction.
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try.
I can’t get no, I can’t get no.
When I’m watchin’ my TV
and that man comes on to tell me
how white my shirts can be.
Well he can’t be a man ’cause he doesn’t smoke
the same cigarrettes as me.
I can’t get no, oh no no no.
Hey hey hey, that’s what I say.
I can’t get no satisfaction,
I can’t get no girl with action.
‘Cause I try and I try and I try and I try.
I can’t get no, I can’t get no.
When I’m ridin’ round the world
and I’m doin’ this and I’m signing that
and I’m tryin’ to make some girl
who tells me baby better come back later next week
’cause you see I’m on losing streak.
I can’t get no, oh no no no.
Hey hey hey, that’s what I say.
I can’t get no, I can’t get no,
I can’t get no satisfaction,
no satisfaction, no satisfaction, no satisfaction.
Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones
It’s been an interesting weekend – I’ve been on my veggie kick for 6 days now – I decided to give up meat and chicken for lent. It’s been tough…one of my student workers had a yummy cajun chicken sandwich on the first day of my veggie plan – it smelled great and she knew I was hungry….but I had to say thank you and pass on it….so far so good. I found a yummy dried tofu thing at Ranch 99. My co-worker recomended soaking it in water to soften it and then boil it. That was neat. We also found some dried seeweed and I figured, we may as well try making sushi. We had a toss up between the salmon sashimi and a regular cut of salmom, which was cheaper. We took the cheaper option. Then we found out online that salmon can’t be served raw – it had to be smoked or cured for some time…we are able to fry it up and roll of the sushi -nigri style. It was yummy and filling, which always surprises me because of the small portions.
it’s a good day 🙂 a happy day 🙂
