Nikki wasn’t able to make it for the Kitchen Sisters on the Talking to Stranger’s panel. Davia had a hilarious story about one of their first interviews for Santa Cruz radio (some time back in the 70’s) – Nikki and Davia wanted to interview a father and son lumberjack team. Eventually, they managed to schedule one at the lumberjacks’ house, at around 9 pm….the house was in the woods, in the middle of nowhere. When they started talking to the father and son, they realized this pair had something else up their sleeves….apparently, these lumberjacks were into training, taming, and dressing-up rattlesnakes. David got to touch one of them…the rattlesnakes, that is. We were cracking up as she described how a team of rattlesnakes were dressed up in dresses and dragging a minature calistoga.
Rusty for the The Viability of Internet Radio panel talked about “scamming” bandwidth. He manages to make quite a few under-the-table deals to use bandwith from other ISP’s. For one porn site, that was still in the staging process, the network admin said SOMA FM could use its bandwith for bit and in a sense, test out the strength and integerity of the system. He claimed that quite a few sites can be traced to some government ISP, in Florida….gee, what a nice sys admin over there.
gosh….i’m pooped.
