Back at the newsroom – we got into a discussion about the type of people who go to conventions…rest assured – we didn’t run into the chicks who had plastic surgery to look like barbie…yeah, that was a scary little TV segment….
Then the hit on Star Trek Conventions…and well….I tried to defend those fans…but heck, once I was able to explain the difference between a trekkie and trekker – it was all over….my professor got this weird look on her face. I tried to explain how other sci-fi stuff went into these Trek Conventions – like Xena and Hercules. She basically told me: ‘Stop right there, before I start losing more respect for you…that’s so not cool.’
hmmm….everyone got a good chuckle….sigh….i guess it was funny
