I got the house to myself. Every other morning, I drag my butt out of my bed to run….and then I come home to an empty house. So I fill up the house with the noise of news reports – Hurrican Katrina, Hurrican Ophelia and the Roberts Confirmation Hearings. Even on the mornings I don’t go jogging – the TV ends up on the confirmation hearings for most of the morning.
CNN and MSNBC carried live coverage of the hearings. The Senators (Republicans and Democrats) – spent most of their time lecturing Roberts and sounding totally belligerent. But, I suppose they want the truth. Their constituents are watching and they need to deliever a performance of sorts.
“If the Constitution says that the little guy should win, the little guy’s going to win in court before me. But if the Constitution says that the big guy should win, well, then the big guy’s going to win, because my obligation is to the Constitution. That’s the oath,” Judge John Roberts told the Senate committee.

I wonder what happens to the Supreme Court of the land if Roberts becomes its Chief Justice.
