Kansas was hit with more snow this week. It was something like 4-degrees when I went into work on Thursday night. That was a heat wave compared to other parts of the state. During the 10:00 News, our weather dude said it was 14-degrees in Concordia.
So for you West Coast people who are enjoying snow-free weather, I envy you. Wil Wheaton wrote about drinking iced green tea, barefoot, in his backyard.
This is my backyard. This is where Daisy does her business. This morning, she left behind cute little pawprints in the snow as the wind pounded on our faces. Sure, snow looks pretty, but it get’s old quickly. I am sad that I’m looking forward to 30-degree weather next week. I told my fellow producer that I’m an island girl and I’m not digging this weather. She said she understands, being a desert baby.
Last night, we did movie night inside our cozy apartment set to 70-degrees. Pizza, Dos Equis and garlic bread. Good times. Daisy sniffed out the import beer and she enjoyed taking a few sips from the palm of my hand. She dozed off while we watched Neon Genesis Evangelion: Death and Rebirth. I love this anime series but the last two episodes totally disappointed me. Last night, this final movie illuminated everything. It finally expanded on what was teased in the opening credits of the series: from the tree of Life to Shinji’s ultimate role in the fate of the world. I loved the use of Pachbell’s Canon in D and other classical themes. This anime epic is beautifully drawn and it provides a satisfying story arc for fans. Mark said people don’t need to do LSD – they just have to watch this movie to take a trip.
Daisy and Mark have found a way to stay warm in single-digit weather. Since I sleep on a different schedule, I think Daisy considers Mark her “man.” She’s quite protective of his lap and she doesn’t like the beta female trying to take her place. Silly puppy.
but but but–we have no precipitation out here (even in the Sierras, no snow…and the bay area, very little raini)! your landscape looks so beautiful!
