So…something like 60 mph winds, thunder and lightening kept us up until 2:30 this morning. It was quite incredible to watch violent weather in Kansas. We heard the tornado sirens go off — but our weather dude kept saying there are no tornado watches/warnings for Topeka…
Still, our neighbors picked up their two cute poodles and headed for the parking lot. I don’t think I’d want to drive in this weather.

Winds like that are the reason I don’t think I could live in Kansas.
I once thought the wind chill factor by Lake Michigan would kill me during a Chicago winter. A Cali girl trying to go to school in below zero weather? It sounded crazy at the time.
Still, I survived my winter quarter at Northwestern.
