Sad news. Majel Barrett Roddenberry passed away this morning. She was married to Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry and she was 76-years-old.

In the pilot series, she was “Number 2” and second in command to Captain Pike. Many Trekkies loved her as the Nurse Chapel from the Original Series. I knew her best as the voice of the U.S.S. Enterprise computer in Next Generations. Also an interesting Trek tidbit – she’s the only actress to be featured in all 6 Star Trek TV Series.

She was also Lwaxana Troi (Deanna Troi’s mom) on Next Generation and DS9.
I loved the scenes with Lwaxana and Odo! I was tickled when she let Odo melt into her wig
