I stumbled on this beautiful, dark animated short film via Laughing Squid.
The Cat’s Piano is produced by The People’s Republic of Animation. It’s narrated by Nick Cave. His grim voice is like scotch poured over the beatnik stanzas.
I wonder if any Bay Area film/cartoon festivals will pick it up. I’d love to see it again on the silver screen.
