I wanted fresh oysters.
We drove up to Tomales Bay Oyster Company in Marin County.
At the picnic tables, we barbecued oysters. I also added fresh lemon juice and chunky garlic hot pepper sauce.
We shucked oysters for the first time.
Also – so happy I read the oysters section in David Chang’s Momofuku. It helped us avoid puncturing the oyster. It probably saved our fingers.
This is a beautiful spot for a picnic with oysters. Lot’s of them.
It was also thrilling to eat raw oysters after we shucked them. So satisfying!
