This is scary: Coffee habit may hike miscarriage risk – Pregnancy- msnbc.com.
Doctors are split on what this means for pregnant women, with some advising avoiding caffeine altogether and others saying buzz-inducing beverages are still safe in moderation.
When I worked at Starbucks, I remembered some pregnant women ordered coffee. I asked them if they wanted decaf and they said no.
I think I’d be willing to switch to decaf if I had a bun baking in the oven. I also know that would be a painful transition for me. Hopefully I have a more reasonable work schedule by the time we decide to have kids.
From a mommy of two, I strongly feel this is bogus. One of those children being 9lbs 5 ounces. The reason those women said no to you was because when you are pregnant you are more tired than ever the first three months and the last three months. 🙂 More power to you if you can kick the caffeine addiction though.
I remember your mom gave up those nice things ( wine, caffeine, …..)without anybody telling her.
I think it’s just the right thing to do whether it is true or not, of course it’s not gonna hurt or maybe it will because your system will be deprived of previous habits.
What I’m saying is.. this whole thing is a big step, you will do everything or sacrifice everything…. after all this new guy is not even given a chance to decide whether he or she would like to face the world. I believe that’s not fair.
Well life is not always fair anyway……………it should go on……so go ahead and multiply!
I will admit to giving up sugar. I had too but, I was more than willing to give up sugar to help the outcome of my children.
I also nursed both children, because I do feel that it gives children a head start in life. There is nothing a mother won’t do for her children. Nothing.
However, giving up caffeine would have probably killed me. Cutting back is one thing, giving it up completely is another story. 🙂
Mark said he would give up coffee and alcohol with me….when I’m pregnant. So, that would help me abstain from those guilty pleasures.
