FULLERTON — Just chilling at McClain’s on Harbor with my honey….he has some work things and work calls – but it’s been a productive afternoon. We read through the book: “Together for Life” by Joesph M. Champlin. We picked out readings and prayers for our wedding ceremony out of this book. At first – Mark and I seemed to be on different pages. Eventually, we managed to chill out and read the scripture passages together and have an honest discussion on the written reflections.
We had a few distractions….Two old dudes stomped into the cafe – one carried a suitcase. The other chugged at his brown-bagged bottle….I think it had booze. The one with the suitcase found some copies of the new OC weekly and a few free magazines. He stuffed them into his suitcase and braced himself on the coffee table to squeeze shut. The other dude had a discussion with the barista….she was concerned about a wound on the his hand.
The discussion took place in front a few concerned looking male customers who came in from their patio seats. I think they were there to back up the barista’s request for the old dudes to leave. But first, she told the drinking man to wash out his wound. He shook his head and brought his injured paw under her own hand. A breath or two. Then he stumbled out of the cafe. The barista thanked the male customers.
Life went back to normal.
“What happened?” Mark asked. I told him it was like something out of a night at Wall Berlin in Berkeley….which has been replaced with some yuppie tea house….grrrr…..
I also picked up David from the airport. Yeah! Daddy said he looked darker…maybe even taller.
Let’s see – you can also check out the playlist from my first DJ show at KSPC – I posted them to my DJ blog. I’ll be back on the air next Thursday from 2-4pm.
