Our backyard smelled yummy. My hubby grilled salmon on a cedar plank.
Got to play with. My new Hello Kitty ball at Sea Bowl in Pacifica.
It took me two games to warm-up. I played as “Kitty.” Mark was “Doggy.”
After our third game…
One player nearby hooted: “Kitty kicked doggy’s butt!”
Day 23 of 100 Happy Days.
Over the last few weeks, my schedule in the newsroom was a roller coaster ride of responsibilities.
Last weekend, I tracked grass fires and fireworks for the evening news shows. During the week, I produced slideshows and logged a news conference on a scary house explosion for the website. I suppose it all adds up to a typical week for the gal who produces shows and web content.
When I survive the work week, I hit the road in search of new flavors and comfort food. Thank God for my hubby and friends who enjoy eating and drinking.
TONAWANDA, NY — Listening to Baby Grand, a Sacramento-based indie/twee pop band and chilling at Panera.
Today, I ran 4.17 miles in Lockport. It feels good to keep up with my 10K training on this vacation…especially with all the eating we’re doing.
Last night, we toasted marshmallows at a bonfire and made s’mores.
“Regular or Phillips?”
Our Oakland buddy dubbed that as the name of his BBQ. Scott served up some our favorites from last time, including that amazing hickory-smoked salmon.
I fried up some beef lumpia for the party. I left out the patis & peanut oil in this batch. Another party-goer offered up his home-brewed Brown Ale. He said he used brown sugar. He says that’s probably what gave his foamy beer its caramel aftertaste.
For dessert, Scott made vanilla ice cream. It tasted so creamy and sweet. I wanted seconds.
