Travel Theme: Hot

My reading hammock in Ixtapa, Mexico. 100-degree weather kept us in shorts for our honeymoon, back in 2005.

Breakfast at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas. At the pool, we found some relief from the desert heat. I remember temperatures hitting 100 degrees before 10 AM.
Bloody Mary

I thought both photos would be nice for this week’s Travel Theme: Hot.

Beyond the dock of the bay

I enjoyed a breeze by the pool. I savored foie gras for dinner.
Then I watched fireworks with my family. I loved my July 4th weekend in Las Vegas.

Hello Sin City

We enjoyed a fantastic view of the Red Rock fireworks show near my cousin’s house. Neighbors decided to stage light shows of their own. Random explosives pierced the night sky on our walk back to the house. I must admit, I was little worried when I saw some of those fireworks fly sideways in the air.

Stoli Cocktail at Mix
We enjoyed a fantastic lightning show at the Mix Lounge inside Mandalay Bay. The summer rain storm cooled everybody off.

Wave Pool
Here’s our wave pool at Mandalay Bay.

My new Vegas buddies
Plus, I made friends in front of the Flamingo Hilton.

Put a smile on your face

One of the few pictures of me from our Vegas trip. I’m usually the gal behind the camera, silently shooting.
Inside the Wynn

My long weekend in Sin City feels like a lifetime ago. After working on the weekend shows, I suspect I’m ready for another vacation. I’d love another getaway with island cocktails and a luau, like the one we attended at the Venetian.

In the meantime, I’m happy to watch other people add some spice to their ‘real lives’ by diving into a Bollywood musical. This music video put a smile on my face.

I’m quite happy to catch up with this Comic Con music video by the Guild. My hubby and I would love to check out this geekfest some day. Maybe I’ll dress up!

The Guild also plans on selling this song on iTunes tomorrow! Yup – I plan on adding it to my playlist
🙂

It’s magic! Teller talks

I don’t think it’s hot enough in Cow Town. Time to spend our long weekend in a desert.

The view from our room at Caesars

Later today, we’ll be sipping cocktails in some swanky lounge. Sometime during this trip, we’ll enjoy home cooking with my family.

Maybe Lady Luck will be my BFF as I visit the tables and slot machines. I wonder if she accepted my Facebook friend request. I also tried looking up her profile on Linkedin. No luck there.

Last Decemeber, we saw the Penn and Teller show off the strip. After breaking down the BS in magic tricks – they did a meet and greet in the lobby. If you know anything about this magic duo, you would understand why most of us were shocked when Teller started chatting with fans. When Penn put his arm around me for a photo, he called me ‘Boss.’

Anything is possible in Vegas….Except for beating the house.
