Wannabe Guildie

I’m looking forward to the return of my guilty pleasure, “The Guild.”

The web series makes its season premiere Tuesday. Joy!

The show covers the quirks, relationships and complications of a group of online gamers. Felicia Day plays Codex and she is brilliant as a producer, writer and actor. As I watch each episode, I’m always impressed with the slick production quality and the show’s talented ensemble of actors. With dialogue and comic timing that reminds me of Joss Whedon’s works, I keep clicking around for the next episode.

I’m also looking forward to Wil Wheaton’s return to the Guild as the snarky, evil gaming rival, Fawkes.

More Playing Around

I’ve read about the snow on the Grapevine. On our LA road trip in February, it was the first time I saw snow on this stretch of I-5. Crazy.
So Cal has seasons.

Another crazy thing – watching family play Nintendo Wii. On this visit – my hubby and cousin faced off on crazy racing contests for “Rayman Raving Rabbids: TV Party.”

I Want to Play Video Games for a Living!

Funny, in Kansas – I played Nintendo Wii when it came out. Fally had some rockin’ game nights at her house in Lawrence. Wario Bros ruled!

Here in Cali, we kicked it old school with an Atari Game Night at the Davis Public Library.

Bring on the 8-Bit Gaming Good Times! It was so cool to see gaming fans, young and old, play the OG versions of Frogger, Mario Bros and Centipede. I’m thankful I got to use the “roller” controller for Centipede. The joystick was hell on shooting down the roaming bugs!

All Things Mario

So, I’m addicted to playing anything with Mario on our Wii. My dad gave it to us and we love it.

My hubby loves it a lot. And Daisy wonders why she can’t have her own Mii. I haven’t figured out how to make the Cocker Spaniel ears.

We’re having fun with bowling, tennis and surfing headlines on our Wii. And as I said before, I’m also digging all things Mario. My hubby bought Super Mario Galaxy from a music shop in Davis for $30. It’s a beautiful, challenging game.

Speaking of my favorite videogame hero, I stumbled on this new Mario cartoon by Seth MacFarlane on Laughing Squid. This is what would happen if a videogame was mixed with Reality TV.
