I can’t believe he’s gone….I’m so sad….he was this timeless icon and possible, just underneath the surface, I thought he wouldn’t leave….
This AP Story on Yahoo News reported Mr. Rogers died of stomach cancer, early this morning….
I totally remember watching his show, on those lazy Summer Days, when we had nothing better to do….I loved his adventures in the Neighborhood of Make-Believe.
My cousin, brother, and I would play and pretend we could enter that world as well.

What is Mister Roger’s Neighborhood?
It was world of sweet consistency and respect and love for everyone who entered it. At the start of the show – he would also sing his tune:
It’s a beautiful day in this neighborhood,
A beautiful day for a neighbor.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?…
It’s a neighborly day in this beauty wood,
A neighborly day for a beauty.
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?…
I’ve always wanted to have a neighbor just like you.
I’ve always wanted to live in a neighborhood with you.
So, let’s make the most of this beautiful day.
Since we’re together we might as well say:
Would you be mine?
Could you be mine?
Won’t you be my neighbor?
Won’t you please,
Won’t you please?
Please won’t you be my neighbor?

And he would change into his home clothing – a different sweater/cardigan and different shoes. He was very hospitable. And he was always there.
it’s so sad – and it sucks, because this one of the many facts of reality we have to face as a grown-up…people move on. people die. people leave our lives, even the special ones…
i kinda hoped that he would still be around with his songs and his wonderful neighborhood of make-believe for my children….whenever i have them.
it’s so sad
