Sweet….ok…some lead up….
We’re in Prague – visiting Sara……she has a lovely place and it’s so darn cheap to live here. It’s a welcome relief for our wallets after our dollars took a pounding in London. Damn the pound….just wait until the UK switches to the Euro…
Ok…Prague. I wanted to go to mass today….I really really tried to find an open Catholic church – but everyone had masses at 8 Am…and well….even I am not that much of an early bird. Besides…I needed some rest after our late night out. It was as much late as it was drunk.
So – on my way to the Old Town part of Prague – I passed a wannabe-trendy-hiphop-sports clothing store.
The speakers pumped out my favorite Tupac tune: “California”
First I started cracking up – I didn’t expect to tbe grooving to American Rap music in the middle of a former Communist country.
California love!
California…knows how to party
California…knows how to party
In the citaaay of L.A.
In the citaaay of good ol’ Watts
In the citaaay, the city of Compton
We keep it rockin! We keep it rockin!
Then I thought to myself….is this God’s way of telling my Cal won the Big Game? That thought warmed me on my walk through Old Town….
Then I found this internet cafe – playing some nice trance music….I logged on to Yahoo Sports….Yeah….I think God was trying to send me a message.
Go Bears! – Cal: 41 and Stanfurd: 6 …..
It snowed last night….the three of walked arm in arm…..cozy and buzzed. I had my first shot of absinth….it tastes like cough syrup….made from worm wood and illegal in the States.
The churches look like something out of a fairy tale.
We had a yummy meal for cheap. I ordered a $5.00 steak and added potate pancakes and a duck salad for another $1.00. Beer is super cheap – only a couple of cents. We ordered the Czech stuff – ’cause that’s the specialty….
We also listened to jazz inside a bar that’s been open since 1492…..you know…Columbus and stuff. It was like drinking absinth cocktails inside a wine cellar. The jazz was nice and the bar was warm.
Back in London, we bought gloves and hats at the train station. Thank heavens. It’s frickin’ cold out here. But not as cold as Chicago.
Right.. Go Bears!!! Just wondering if our buddy Wes has connection for Rosebowl tickets. That will be very nice..
