i still have my job…i must remember to count those blessings…
i am pooped again….
and i warned Mark that I’ll probably come home frustrated with work at least once a week…
On Thursday…after a smooth half-hour…somebody in the booth muttered something about getting promos for the show.
And at the beginning of the next hour of the show, the computer froze. The one that controled the video and the audio for the show. All hell broke loose. We couldn’t get audio back for the set or our video.
Mark said the folks on the set looked calm. It sounded muffled – but if he blasted the volume on the TV set at home, he could hear the on-air folks. Another co-worker said it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion.
I had people freaking out in the booth and in the news room. But in the end, we pulled together and finished the show.
In the end…I stayed calm for folks in the newsroom and I didn’t bite anybody’s head off. I dealt with questions I couldn’t answer and juggled another teary breakdown just after the show. Apparently it’s my fault she got yelled at.
However, I know it’s not my fault. During the show, I kept repeating that phrase over and over to myself when I felt the pressure crushing my lungs.
Lessons learned…yeah…Scarlett O’Hara said it best: “Tomorrow is another day.”
And today – my show went off without problems.
