OK — this is a new thing I’m trying out. I kicked started the daily blog feature on my del.icio.us account. That means all the links I’ve bookmarked for the day will be posted around 10:00 PM, nightly. I thought it was kinda neat to have that coincide with my newscast. Basically, these are links to stories and blogs that have caught my eye and make me wonder…about stuff.
We’ll see how this works out.
-
“Abel Gonzales Jr. flavors his batter with Coca-Cola, deep fries it, drizzles Coke fountain syrup on it, then tops it all off with whipped cream, cinnamon sugar and a cherry.”
-
“It’s only natural that a city obsessive about its coffee would develop a gourmet doughnut chain.”
-
“In the movie, the camera follows Sophia as she dipped butterflied fresh sardines into egg and flour, the following shots are of eager hands grabbing the sardines from the platter. Another platter appeared, and the sardines were devoured just as quickly.”
-
“This effortless pasta dish is one of my standbys. Perhaps unsurprisingly, it is a variation on a dish I ate as a child: for a slightly more grown-up flavor, I now add shredded baby spinach leaves, which soften in the arms of the pasta, and a dash of fresh nutmeg”
-
“For several months now, I’ve been taking the bus to work at least once a week. For those of you who live in/around Los Angeles, you’re probably thinking I’m crazy right now. Give up the freedom of driving my very own car and use public transportation”
-
““The Shadow Governmentâ€? is the latest music video by They Might Be Giants, from their latest album “The Elseâ€?. It was animated by the Los Angeles production studio Colourmovie and premiered this week on Spinner.”
-
“(not to be confused with the other Ma__juana!)The drink burned like a stiff martini, but had a complex flavor heavily influenced with rum and honey.”
okay seriously, why aren’t you a food critic?
I’m probably not a food critic because I don’t want to hurt people’s feelings…more or less.
I’m a frickin’ delicate flower.
And Mark says: “So true.”
