Today – I slept in until 6:30 AM.
24 hours earlier – I was printing scripts for my director, swapping out stories for a live report at a deadly accident scene and writing teases for my 2-hour show.
Yesterday – I wrapped up my last day of work in Sacramento TV News. It’s the end of my contract and I decided to pass on my station’s offer to renew it for another 3 years. Bottom line – my hubby and I want to move to the Bay Area and start a family.
Now – see if you can spot the circles/dark smudges under my eyes. I can’t wait to get rid of those blemishes with sleep. Glorious sleep.
It was a good last day at work. I sampled a margarita from one of our guest bartenders. Overall, I thought I had 2-fun shows – packed with hard news, features and good times. I walked out of the newsroom with more pictures, best wishes and good memories.
Now, I’m marching to the beat of my own drum. I will force myself to enjoy my time off from working. Somehow. Eventually, I’ll look for some freelance gigs in TV/social media/video/PR/whatever. Finally, we’ll move to the Bay Area and start the next chapter of our lives…hopefully with a new member of our family.
On my way out of the station – I listened to “Still Alive” Portal. Mark introduced me to this adorable song at the end of the PS3 game.
It felt like a nice song for my personal end credits.
This was a triumph
I’m making a note here: huge success
It’s hard to overstate my satisfaction
Congratulations Kris!
I’m so happy for you. =) …Enjoy.
