My brain is fried. My body is exhausted.
I’ve spent the last week juggling my graveyard shifts in the newsroom and commitments in the Bay Area. Add sleep deprivation to the mix and you have one short-tempered, foul-mouthed news producer.
I need sleep. I won’t get it since other co-workers are scheduled for vacations.
I need a mental break from my reality. I got that over the weekend with our trip to Cobbs Comedy Club. We saw Kristen Schaal on stage and she was so freaking adorable. I loved her on Flight of the Conchords. She’s like a cartoon character with a voice that’s more high-pitched than my own. I wanted to hug her.
I also found myself laughing at the Old Spice Guy.
Over the summer, I remember shaking my head when I saw the network morning shows jump onto the Old Spice bandwagon. This was news? Really?
However, the Old Spice Guy was funny. I think he understood and embraced the campy nature of these videos.
Best part: He stayed in character when responding to NPR’s Linda Holmes.
Now, he’s facing stiff competition from an iconic blue monster. Awesome.
