I think today marked my last day driving east over the Yolo Causeway before sunrise.
This morning – I said good-bye to my early morning newsroom shifts. I also said ‘Ciao’ (and possibly good riddance) to all those graveyard shifts.
Later, my colleagues wished me good luck. I snapped photos with on-air talent and producers. I juggled slideshows, Twitter, Facebook, text alerts and e-mail alerts for breaking news stories. Naturally, a breaking news story would make me late for my good-bye lunch at Tuli’s.
Now – I’m trying to imagine sleeping past 3 a.m. I’m also trying to picture my life without the graveyard shifts.
So far, it looks good.
This is my entry for today’s Photo Friday Challenge: Dark.
