Home: Where the heart is.
We finally microchipped Daisy.
Last week, the dog went out for a late-night stroll of the neighborhood. She discovered a breach in our fence security. She took advantage of the hole and wiggled her way out.
My heart broke when we realized she wasn’t home. We spent about five minutes driving around the block. Mark spotted her at another house.
We brought Daisy back home. I went to work with less than 4 hours of sleep. Mark stayed home to fix the holes in the fence. I scheduled a microchip appointment at our veterinarian’s office.
Eight hours later, the doctor poked Daisy with a huge needle. Daisy is now another number in a national database.
For some reason, I imagined her “singing”: “Who am I? 2-4-6-0-1!”
- We planted a Pink Lady dwarf apple tree. We picked it up from the wine club party at St. Supery. One of the workers said they planted the seedlings in the Dollarhide vineyard. I hope we don’t kill it.
- I made pasta fagioli with our homemade turkey stock.
- We spotted crew practice during our walk around Lake Merced.
Finally…one of my favorite songs about “Home.”
This is my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Home.
