One of the most exquisite sounds in the world: my baby breathing on my chest, snuggled up inside a wrap.
Every day I have with my little man is precious. I didn’t realize how much until I saw the end of my maternity leave, just around the corner.
Motherhood surprised me. From piercing baby cries to nursing on demand, it’s an exquisite experience. After stressful weeks obsessing over sleep and weight, now I am enjoying all the ways he is growing and developing. His smile makes my heart skip. His preppy baby suits charm the rest of the world. Yes, he was the best dressed baby at our Buddha Baby Yoga class at Nature’s Whisper.
We went thru two sweater vests this week.
Sometimes life just slips in through a back door
And carves out a person and makes you believe it’s all true
And now I’ve got you
“She Used To Be Mine,” from Sara Bareilles’ Waitress.
I don’t want to leave this warm cocoon of maternity leave, but I am ready to head back to work. I know I can help make his world a better one when I head back to the newsroom.
